SWIMMING
Its an irony that I live in an island but I don't know how to swim. Well, swimming was not my turf and when I was young then my parents were so over protective over us their children. They would not allow us to go to the beach without them. It was right though because they were afraid we'll drown in the sea. I envy people and even young children who know how to swim including the two 8-year old boys who saved the life of a drowning man in Australia.

i don't know how to swim either. odd because I grew up near the river and the lake.
Same here. With very little knowledge of swimming, I didn't want my two kids to be like me so I enrolled them to some swimming lessons. I'm glad I did, coz now they're good at it.
You live in an island? That must be wonderful!
Hope you have a nice Wednesday!
I lived in an island in Northern Cebu too and at young age I learned to swim. My father taught everyone of us to learn to swim so we know how to save ourselves if something happen. The thing that we went to college in Cebu City which was reachable only thru small sea crafts at that time prompted my parents to let us learn swimming at young age. There were few times that on our way to Cebu City for our studies we met strong winds and big waves in the middle of the sea Quite scary at that time.
Now, I let my kids took a swimming lesson at young age so they know also how to save theirselves and also can have fun with their friends in the water with nothing to worry.
